Carter Spray Finishing Corp.
Carter Spray Finishing Corp. 65 Eckford Street, Brooklyn, New York, closed in April of 2012 after 52 years of continuous operation. Every day over ten tons of steel and aluminum were processed. This included the vapor degreasing (raising the ambient part temperature to 180 degrees F for ten minutes) and a curing bake cycle of 360 degrees F for 20 minutes). The operation consisted of two overhead conveyor systems, three overhead accumulation conveyors, a twenty foot batch spray booth, a twenty foot batch oven and nine powder collection systems covering two buildings and 18,000 square feet in Greenpoint Brooklyn.
